THE HUNGER GAMES

As the movie just went on cinemas around a month ago thought I should talk about the book.

The Hunger Games take place in Panem, after the destruction of the actual USA by some unknown event. Panem is divided in 13 poor districts (the 13th was destroyed) and a wealthy Capitol.

Every year one girl and one boy between 12 and 18 from each district must participate in the hunger games where they will have to fight for survival until only one stays alive.

The story starts in district 12 where Katniss Everdeen, a girl who lives with her mother and sister (Prim) must volunteer to substitute her sister 12 year old sister Prim to participate in the Hunger Games next to a baker's son, Peeta.

I will let you read the book to find out how it continues or else just coment and I will tell you the story.

Personal opinion

This book is very adicting, the beggining can probably be a little boring but once the hunger games begin you not let go of the book. It is quite similar to the movie but there are some parts that don't appear in the film.

In a rating of 1 to 10 I think I would put a 10.

No second chance

This is the first book I've read from Harlan Coben and I believe it is one of the best thriller books I have ever read for now. 

The book starts with Mark Seidman wakes up in the UCI after being shot twice one hit him in the chest and hits a little part of his head. He then finds out his wife (monica) has been murdered and his six year old daughter (Tara) has been kidnapped.

He then goes to visit his father in law who has received a ransom note, he must give 2.000.000 $ and they will give back his grand daughter but he can not contact the police.

I will let you people find out how this book continues.

Personal opinion

This thriller is as I said at the beggining one of the best I have read. It is very adicting and hard to let go

of as whenever you aren't reeading it you will be thinking of who killed Monica (the mother) and kidnapped Tara (the daughter). But for me none of this thinking worked as the ending is quite unexpected.

I am now reading Promise me by the same author Harlan Coben so expect a new entry in a week or two.

MEMORIAS DE IDHÚN. LA RESISTENCIA

Este es quizás el más exitoso libro de la gran escritora española Laura Gallego. Es el primero de la trilogía Memorias de Idhún, aunque estos realmente se dividan en dos libros por cada uno, simplemente unidos por la cubierta.

Sinopsis: Nos narra la historia de dos adolescentes, Jack y Victoria. El libro comienza cuando un día, los padres de Jack son asesinados y dos idhunitas, Sail y Alsan, van a rescatarlo del asesino, Kirtash. Cuando consiguen huir y ponerse a salvo le explican que la tarea de Kirtash es asesinar a los idhunitas exiliados en la Tierra, pero que no saben la relación que tienen él y sus padres con eso, pues Jack, al igual que sus progenitores nació en la Tierra. Jack se une a la Resistencia, un grupo formado por Sail, Alsan y Victoria. La Resistencia tiene la misión de encontrar a un dragón y a un unicornio exiliados en la Tierra antes de que el malvado nigromante, Ashran y su ejército de serpientes aladas, los sheks, lo hagan.

Comentario personal: Imposible parar de leerlo, una de las mayores drogas literarias que he encontrado. Quizás su comienzo resulte algo revuelto y confuso, pero es un simple anzuelo... Todo preparado para dar rienda suelta a la imaginación en diferentes mundos paralelos. La saga completa es mi predilecta en el mismo escalón que Harry Potter. Sencillamente...

Los cuentos de Beedle el Bardo

Este libro se mencionó en Harry Potter y las reliquias de la muerte tras lo que J.K. Rowling tubo la idea de escribir el libro. Esta formado por 5 cuentos cada uno seguido por un comentario del profesor Dumbledore.
Los cuentos (con un pequeño argumento) son:

• El mago y el Caldero Saltarín: sobre un mago que curaba los problemas de los vecinos con un caldero y cuando muere se lo deja como herencia a su hijo que no quiere usarlo.
• La fuente de la Justa Fortuna: Tres brujas y un caballero con problemas diferentes cada uno son elegidos para entrar en un jardín donde se encuentra la fuente de la Justa Fortuna. 
• Babbity Rabbity y su tocon Carcajeante:Un rey quiere aprender magia y busca un mago. Un muggle se ofrece voluntario solo para conseguir dinero y engañar al rey. Hasta que el rey decide hacer un espectáculo de magia al ver que la lavandera que es una bruja se rie de el.
• El peludo corazon del hechicero: un hechicero no se quiere enamorar asta que se siente ofendido al escuchar a un sirviente sintiendo lastima por el y otro burlandose de el por no tener esposa.
• El cuento de los Tres Hermanos: este es el mas conocido ya que desenvuelve un papel bastante importante en Harry Potter y las reliquias de la muerte. Cuenta como 3 hermanos evitan la muerte y este les ofrece una recompensa a cada uno que podran elegir. El primero elige una varita que le hara ganar todos los combates, el segundo una piedra que podra devolverles la vida a los muertos y el tercero una capa invisible.

Este libro se puede leer facilmente en 1-2 horas ya que consta de 118 paginas y una letra algo grande comparado con otros libros.
A mi me ha parecido un libro bastante interesante aunque no se puede comparar con las novelas de Harry Potter.
De una valoracion del 1 al 10 le pondría un 8.
